About Ako: I am a minimalist abstract Japanese artist. I began learning oil painting at the age of four and calligraphy at the age of six. Through calligraphy, I acquired fundamentals such as balance, energy, and rhythm, learned the aesthetics of lines, and broadened my perspective and creativity. All of these have greatly influenced my abstract art and share a deep commonality in that they directly appeal to the emotions.

I graduated from Bunka Gakuin art institute in Tokyo, where I studied under Masanari Murai, a pioneering Japanese abstract artist.

After exhibiting prints and oil paintings at galleries and museums in Tokyo, I moved to New York City in 1998. I exhibited at many major art shows throughout the U.S., including NYC, Chicago & Miami, and learned how to communicate my intentions and concepts through direct dialogue with clients.

I also exhibited at galleries and museums after undergoing rigorous curator selection and was awarded an artist loft artist in New Jersey, dedicating myself to creating art alongside other artists.

I recently returned to my native country after living in the U.S. for about 28 years. I can now share a select number of my remaining pieces for you to display in museum or corporate collections, your home or office. My hope is that you will experience the freedom, imagination, positive energy & peace I have sought to convey in my art, which I sell & ship worldwide.

Shipping is free. Please enjoy the artwork❣️
